It is time to plan to come back to Tucson for our Tweed Study Course workshop (September 17-18, 2024) and the 34th Biennial Meeting of the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation (September 19-21, 2024). All scientific sessions will be held at the Memorial Center. The Thursday evening reception and Saturday evening dinner will be at the JW Marriott Starr Pass resort. A minimal number of rooms will be available at our room rate of $211 plus taxes. There is also a $35 nightly resort fee as well as parking fees (self parking $10, valet $32). You MUST book your room for check in on Wednesday, September 18 and check out on Sunday, September 22 to receive this discounted rate. You must stay at Starr Pass four nights or pay for the nights you do not use! There is no way, for example, to stay there only two nights. We also have a block of rooms at the Lodge on the Desert, which will be available from Sunday, September 15 through Sunday, September 22. Please look under Hotel Accommodations to book your reservation at either Starr Pass or the Lodge on the Desert.
The pre-meeting workshop will be held September 17 and 18 at the Memorial Center. If you choose to stay at the Lodge on the Desert, breakfast is included in your room fee. The workshop fee will be $200. Those who plan to attend the workshop will need to arrive in Tucson on Monday, September 16 and book a room at the Lodge on the Desert or other accommodations for Monday through Wednesday or Monday through Saturday night September 21, the last day of the Biennial meeting. This pre Biennial Meeting workshop should be enjoyable, fun and very educational.
Ray Fuqua and Steve Roehm are organizing a very interesting and dynamic Biennial meeting scientific program. It will begin on Thursday, September 19 at 3:00 at the Memorial Center.
The "model" room will open Thursday morning. All members are encouraged to put their "plaster on the table" and study each other's case reports. Examination committee members will look at case reports for those who desire to become Fellows of the Charles Tweed Foundation. Case report presentation information for all who seek to become Fellows and all members who are required to bring case reports can be downloaded from the website, www.tweedortho.com. The model display room will be located in the Babnick building (Annex) and will be open each day from early in the morning until late in the evening. Lectures will end at approximately 1:00 on Friday so that members can enjoy the camaraderie and the educational experience of the model room. All members are encouraged to bring case reports. It is our DUTY to do so!
The social schedule is rather simple. There will be a reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres Thursday evening, September 19 at Starr Pass. Friday evening is reserved for a light catered dinner and visiting at the Memorial Center. On Saturday evening we will have the President's Dinner at Starr Pass, during which we will honor some very special people. Lunches during the workshop and the meeting are "on your own".
Please DO NOT MISS what promises to be a fun, educational and exciting experience. Put this workshop and meeting on your calendar. The registration form can be found under Biennial Meeting Registration Form. If you desire to attend the workshop, please include the workshop fee with the meeting registration fee. Please send a copy of the registration form along with your payment to the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation. To make payment, you may enclose a check in the mail with your registration form or pay by credit card under Biennial Meeting Payment. If paying by credit card, you must still mail or email your registration form to the Charles Tweed Foundation. Additionally, make sure to make your hotel reservations with either JW Marriott Starr Pass or Lodge on the Desert before July 31, 2024.
