- Applicants who have graduated from a recognized graduate orthodontic program.
- Applicants who are currently enrolled as a student in a recognized graduate orthodontic program.
- What is the application process to attend the Tweed Study Course?
- The first step is to complete an application for the course. You may do so online by selecting the Tweed Study Course you would like to attend. If you prefer, you may download an application and mail a printed copy to our office in Tucson (address at the bottom of the application), along with your tuition payment or your Tuition Loan Application.
- Tuition payment is not available on our website. Please see How do I make my tuition payment?
- When will I know if I've been accepted into the course I desire to attend?
- Once an application is processed, applicants will receive an email to confirm acceptance to the course, tuition fee, and payment instructions. If the applicant does not qualify to attend or if the course is full, notice will also be given. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing..
- Once I've been accepted to a course, how is my place reserved?
- Your place at a course is held temporarily by your accepted course application. Your place is reserved by receipt of your tuition payment or eligible loan application.
- If the class I would like to attend is full, do you have an alternate list?
- We have an alternate list for those who apply after a course is already full. We try to notify alternate applicants of an opening as soon as possible, but we might not have availability until just before the course begins.
- If an applicant is not able to attend as an alternate, their application can be held for the next available course. Applicants who have submitted tuition payment will hold priority for class placement from the alternate list.
- When is the best time to apply for an upcoming course?
- Due to the increasing popularity of our course, early application of 6 months to 1 year prior to the desired course is strongly recommended. We do our best to accommodate students and universities, but we have a limited number of places available.
- What is the tuition for the course?
- Tuition for the course is $2,000 in U.S. funds.
- Students enrolled in a recognized graduate orthodontic program at the time of the course may be eligible for a discounted rate of $1,400 to $1,600. The discount depends upon several factors. Please contact us for details.
- How do I make my tuition payment?
- Tuition payment is not available on our website.
- Applicants may pay by check issued from a U.S. bank.
- Preferred payment for International applicants is by bank draft or postal money order in U.S. funds. If international payment must by made by wire transfer, you will need to contact us for instructions.
- Who qualifies for a tuition loan? How do I apply?
- Current U.S. and Canadian citizens who have a relative living in the U.S. are eligible to apply for a loan of up to $1,600 from the Charles H. Tweed International Foundation. Any amount applied for that is above the tuition cost will be issued to the student by check during the course in Tucson. Please see the Tuition Loan Application for more information.
- Once my place at the course is reserved, what instructions will I receive?
- You will receive Tweed Course Instructions which will include:
- Information on available hotel accommodations.
- Materials that will be provided at the course.
- Instructions outlining what you will need to prepare in advance to bring with you for the course.
- Instrument List. Some instruments and supplies are available for sale during the course.
- Recommended Reading List.
- Course schedule and recommended attire for our climate.
- You will receive Tweed Course Instructions which will include:
- What hotel accommodations are available? What are the costs?
- We recommend the Doubletree Tucson Reid Park Hotel, which is conveniently located. The hotel provides a complimentary breakfast each morning, free shuttle service to and from the course each day, and an airport shuttle. Please contact us for the special hotel rates during the course you will be attending.
- What are the expenses besides the tuition?
- Students are responsible to pay for their hotel bill, meals, transportation, and instruments purchased at the course.
- The Tweed Study Course cannot accept credit card payment for instruments and/or supplies purchased at the course.
- Is transportation available to and from the airport, or the course and hotel each day?

- What is the course schedule? Is there any free time?
- Each day begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 7:00 p.m., except for the 2nd Sunday, which is a free day of rest for everyone. The course ends with
typodont check-in on the final Wednesday at 5:00 p.m., followed by a class party in the evening.

- May I receive a letter of invitation to the course to assist in obtaining a travel visa?
- Students who need assistance in obtaining a travel visa may request a letter of invitation from our office. The letter will outline the course objectives, hours, and fee.
- What is your cancellation policy?
- In the event of cancellations less than thirty days prior to the course, no refund will be made. For cancellations prior to 30 days, a $30 processing fee will be assessed.
