Milan and Leonardo Da Vinci's “Last Supper”

Last Supper, his most famous and largest work.
The tour continues to the Duomo, symbol and soul of Milan. In white marble, the majestic construction has more than 3400 statues that make the Duomo the unique symbol of the “Flowered Gothic Art” in the world. Walking through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, it is possible to reach the square where rises one of the world's most famous opera houses, the Teatro alla Scala, a neoclassical structure designed by the architect Giuseppe Piermarini between 1776-1778.

Varese and Villa Mirabello - Civic museum
Varese boasts a civilisation dating back to the dawn of time. Under Roman colonisation a historic centre was formed, first as a military garrison and later as an inhabited area. A free municipality, it became a feud of Duke Francesco III d'Este. Evidence of one thousand years of history can still be found in the many places linked to Christianity and worship (Santa Maria del Monte and the Holy Road, San Vittore and the Baptistery in the city centre) and to civil life (Castle of Masnago, Tower of Velate, Castle of Belforte, Tower of Piazza Monte Grappa). After a walking visit of the city centre and a drink in a typical cafè, the tour continues to the Civic Museum of Villa Mirabello (XVIII century) where masterpieces of the '600 in Lombardy (Cairo, Nuvolone, Morazzone and Procaccini) and of the '800 - '900 (Hayez, Pellizza da Volpedo, Cremona, Ranzoni, Grandi and Balla) are exhibited. In the archeological section, it will be possible to see the "diatreta cagnola", a glass cage-cup of the Roman period, (there are only five examples in the world) and the "warrior's tomb", celtic entombment. At the end of the tour, visit of the Carlsberg brewery with beer tasting.
Price per person: € 60,00 including transfer by bus, English speaking guide, entrance to museums, drink and beer tasting.
Sunday, October 19 from 2,00 to 18,00 p.m.
The Sacro Monte in Varese
The Sacro Monte in Varese is one of the most refined, complete and significant examples of a “holy path”.Fourteen chapels, dedicated to the Rosary mysteries and spaced by three arches, wind up a long and tortuous path ( more than 2 kilometres), which starts at 585 meters with the first chapel and arrives to 880 meters with the Sanctuary of Santa Maria del Monte. On the hill top, together with the sanctuary, there is the village with its original medieval structure with narrow tortuous roads and old buildings.
Price per person: € 35,00 including transfer by bus and English speaking guide.
